The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has taken the lead in investigating a pedestrian accident that claimed a life on Sunday night in Newark.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard.
Upon receiving reports of an injured person, police units quickly arrived at the scene. They discovered a severely injured individual lying on the ground.
The victim was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
