Police in West Windsor are investigating a motorcycle crash that left a woman dead overnight
Police say at 11:05 pm patrol units responded to reports of the car crash on US Route 1 South in the area of the Market Fair where authorities said a 1990 Honda CBR motorcycle with one additional passenger was traveling on US Route 1 South in the area of roadway construction (milling & paving).
Police say the operator lost control of the motorcycle and crashed causing the female passenger to be thrown from the bike.
The operator and passenger both sustained injuries.
According to police, following the crash, the female passenger remained standing in the roadway when a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis traveling South on US Route 1 struck the female passenger.
Initial responding Patrol Officers performed lifesaving measures on the severely injured woman while West Windsor EMS continued to attend to the female passenger then transported her to Capital Health Systems Fuld Trauma Center where the 42-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Police say the operator of the Grand Marquis reported no injuries. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was also transported to Capital Health Systems Fuld Trauma
Police closed US Route 1 South in the area of the crash for approximately (4) hours.
The entire incident is still under the investigation of the Mercer County Prosecutors Office SCRT, the WWPD Traffic & Detective Bureaus.
