Hudson County authorities are on the scene investigating a fire that caused fatal injuries to one person this afternoon in Jersey City.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 20's block of Bostwick Avenue after receiving reports of a fire inside a two-story wood framed house shortly before 12:30 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found fire coming from the basement of the house according to reports.
Crews were able to knock the flames down swiftly, but after a search, they found an unidentified injured person.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead a short time later.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
