Fatal Hit-and-Run in Midland Park Claims Life of 70-Year-Old Pedestrian

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has provided an update on the ongoing investigation into a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred in Midland Park. AdThe investigation is being carried out by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Chief Matthew Finck, in collaboration with the Midland Park Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Powderley.

The incident took place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at approximately 7:09 p.m., when the Midland Park Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle on Godwin Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that the vehicle involved had fled.

The pedestrian, identified as 70-year-old Paul Adams from Wyckoff  was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.

Despite medical efforts, Adams was pronounced dead.AdAuthorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
