Officials in Middlesex County Prosecutor announced that they are investigating a fire in which one person died in a section of Woodbridge on Wednesday.
According to a statement released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, at approximately 9:12 a.m, authorities responded to 88 South Inman Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodbridge following a report of a structure fire.
Officials said the unidentified victim was discovered after personnel arrived on the scene.
The cause of death remains undetermined pending the completion of an autopsy by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said no firefighters or police officers were injured.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is active and is continuing.
