The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are looking into the cause of a first that killed one person inside a house in Paterson this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, the fast-moving two-alarm fire broke out in the basement of a large three-story house located at 279 17th Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Official say upon their arrival, flames extended to the first floor of the home.
One person was pulled from the residence and pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
