Mercer County authorities are investigating a crash that caused fatal injuries in Trenton during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened in the vicinity of NJ-29 and Calhoun Street at approximately 11:50 p.m. where police and EMS responded to reports of a collision with injuries on the highway.
Upon their arrival, they found a severely damaged vehicle with at least one person heavily trapped inside and several other victims suffering non-life threatening injuries outside of the car.
One person was pronounced dead, and EMS transported the other victims to an area hospital for treatment.
Police closed all lanes of the highway for the crash investigation.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
