There is an active investigation underway into a crash that killed one person on the NJ Turnpike in Linden.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called to the northbound lanes near mile marker 98.4 exit 13 truck lanes ramp at around 6:45 p.m. for a crash with injuries.
Rescue crews arrived to find a truck engulfed in flames with the driver reportedly pinned under the cab.
Firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
