The New Jersey State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 195 in Monmouth County. 
Authorities responded to the eastbound lanes near milepost 10.2 in Upper Freehold after receiving reports of a vehicle crash.
Callers reported that the vehicle ignited into flames following the impact.
Upon arrival, police discovered two individuals suffering from severe injuries. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while emergency responders administered CPR to the other individual.
Their current condition has not been disclosed.
All lanes of I-195 were temporarily closed as investigators worked at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
