Fatal Accident Under Investigation in Manville

Authorities in Somerset County announced that a fatal accident investigation occurred in the area of South Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue in the early evening hours of Sunday, September 15, in the Borough of Manville.

Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said on Sunday, September 15, at approximately 5:32 p.m., Manville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of South Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue for a report of an accident involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle.AdUpon arrival, officials say, Manville Police officers determined that the motorcyclist had suffered critical injuries from the accident.

The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old male Belle Mead-Griggstown resident, was transported to a local trauma hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, officials stated. 

Officials said members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Manville Police Department responded to the investigation.

The investigation is currently ongoing, pending the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings, according to officials.
