New Jersey State Police were called to the scene of a deadly crash on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County.
The accident, involving a single vehicle, occurred at approximately 4:29 a.m. near milepost 119.7 in Aberdeen Township.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the vehicle, an Alfa Romeo passenger car, was heading southbound on the inner roadway of the Garden State Parkway.
State Police officials said for reasons yet to be determined, the car veered off the road near milepost 119.7, ascending a grass embankment before striking several trees.
The driver of the Alfa Romeo, identified as 22-year-old Mr. Andrew J. Bacolo from Staten Island, New York, sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
At this time, the circumstances leading up to the accident are still under investigation by the NJ State Police, with no further details immediately available.
