Somerset County officials announced the arrest of Jason O’Hare, 33, of Lake Road, Far Hills.
Somerset County Acting Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart stated that as part of the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit were notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) of an apparent upload explicit images of a minor.
The investigation revealed that Jason O’Hare was suspected of uploading numerous explicit images of minors.
Prosecutor Taggart stated that on May 25, at approximately 7:00 am, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office detectives, along with members of the Far Hills Police Department, executed a Superior Court-ordered search warrant at O’Hare’s residence.
As a result of the search, O’Hare’s electronic devices were seized for further computer forensic examination.
According to Prosecutor Taggart, an initial forensic examination of these devices revealed numerous images depicting the explicit exploitation or abuse of a minor.
Prosecutor Taggart stated that as a result of this investigation, on May 25, O’Hare was arrested without incident at his residence, and he was charged with Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors and Possession of Explicit Images of Minors.
Defendant O’Hare was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing and subsequently released.
