There were no injuries reported after energized wires fell on a car in Newark's North Ward this afternoon.
According to police, firefighters were called to the area of Sylvan and Summer avenues just before 1 p.m. for a car fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved vehicle fire with electrical wires sparking the blaze.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire swiftly and a search of the car showed that there were no trapped or injured occupants.
Officials say strong winds brought the wires down on the car, which caused the fire.
