A 36-year-old Fairview man has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to a statement released by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Servolo M. Morales de la Roca after an inquiry conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, led by Chief Matthew Finck, in collaboration with the Fairview Police Department under Chief Vincent M. Bellucci.
The investigation was launched on Friday, December 13, 2024, when the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency notified the Prosecutor’s Office of alleged past sexual misconduct involving a minor.
Investigators determined that Morales de la Roca had engaged in explicit contact with a minor under the age of 13 in Fairview, NJ.
As a result of the investigation, Morales de la Roca was formally charged on Tuesday with multiple counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
Prosecutor Musella commended the efforts of the Special Victims Unit and the Fairview Police Department in this case.
The charges reflect the seriousness of the allegations, and Morales de la Roca is awaiting judicial proceedings.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office emphasized the importance of reporting suspected abuse to protect vulnerable individuals and hold offenders accountable.
