According to a statement released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Faton Boqolli, a 31-year-old resident of Edison, New Jersey, has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and criminal sexual contact.
The charges stem from two separate investigations into incidents involving female victims Boqolli met through Facebook.
The latest investigation began on January 10, 2025, when Detective Clint Hetzell of the Edison Police Department initiated a probe into allegations brought forward by a female victim.
She reported that Boqolli had sexually assaulted her following their connection on the social media platform.
As a result of the investigation, Boqolli was arrested and is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, pending a Pre-Trial Detention Hearing.
This follows an earlier investigation launched on August 5, 2024, by Detective Daniela Castro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Michael Geist of the Edison Police Department.
In that case, another female victim alleged that Boqolli sexually assaulted her during an in-person meeting after they initially met on Facebook.
Boqolli was arrested the following day and charged with Sexual Assault, Criminal Restraint, and Criminal Sexual Contact.
