Police officials in Newark has forwarded an investigation into the suspicious death of a man who was found overnight on a street in the city's South Ward.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 32 Hunter Street at approximately 9:50 p.m. to investigate reports of an injured person.
Police arrived then notified EMS on a rush after they located the unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive male according to officials.
Emergency medical technicians provide life-saving techniques while they rushed the victim to Beth Israel Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead a short time after his arrival.
The incident remains under investigation.
