Bloomfield police were alerted by Belleville authorities that a vehicle used in the robbery had been stolen from Bloomfield days earlier, on January 25.

Detectives soon spotted the car speeding through town and initiated a pursuit that continued into East Orange.

During the chase, the suspect vehicle collided with two civilian cars, but no injuries were reported.

The chase came to an end when the vehicle became disabled, at which point the occupants attempted to flee on foot. Officers quickly apprehended them.

Bloomfield police are now working alongside Belleville authorities and the U.S. Postal Inspectors to further the investigation.

“These individuals committed serious crimes. They then attempted to elude law enforcement, furthering their criminal activity.
