Englewood Man Arrested After Assaulting a Minor

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Mr. Garrett Haskins, 44, of Englewood on charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

According to reports, the arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Lawrence Suffern.

On Saturday, May 25, officials say that the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received a report from the Englewood Police Department that a juvenile had fled the apartment of Haskins after being assaulted by him.

An investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Englewood Police Department, authorities say.

As a result of the investigation, authorities say that Haskins was arrested on Sunday, May 26, in Englewood, New Jersey and charged with one count each of Aggravated Assault, Assault, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

He was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey on Friday, May 31 at 9 AM, reports say.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and the Englewood Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
