Officials at Shoprite in Newark are reporting an employee who tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter delivered to all employees today (Sunday), Shoprite LLC said the following:
” We understand that you may be concerned about your colleagues' well-being and your own risk of exposure. All associates who have been in contact with the worker has been asked to stay home and self-quarantine for 14 days”.
Officials say HIPPA laws prevent them from identifying the employee at this time.
Store officials would not say if the employee made contact with customers at this time.
