Bergen County officials reported the arrest of Emiliano Domi, 25, Elmwood Park, on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and illegal possession of a knife.
Police said on Friday, December 31, 2021, at approximately 11:57 a.m., the Elmwood Park Police Department responded to a domestic violence incident at 4 Martha Avenue in Elmwood Park.
Officers located a 43-year-old female victim with a stab wound.
She was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where she is in stable condition.
An investigation conducted by detectives from the Elmwood Park Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit revealed that Domi stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife.
Police said Domi was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
