A 25-year-old Elizabeth woman who stepped in to help a friend as she was attacked by a group in Jersey City, was stabbed three times Monday night, police said.
The Elizabeth victim told police that her and her friend were walking on Grand Street when two vehicles - with a total of approximately seven woman - exited the vehicles and began assaulting her friend, a Jersey City resident, around 7:40 p.m. near Grand Street near Arlington Park.
She stepped in to help her friend and was stabbed multiple times on her back and her left arm. Police said all wounds were non-life threatening.
The Elizabeth woman told police that her cellphone - valued at $400 - was stolen during the attack.
Police said that the Jersey City woman who was initially attacked was uncooperative.
