An early morning stabbing in Elizabeth sent one person to the hospital in Newark.
Police responded to a Jefferson Avenue address on reports of an assault in progress shortly before 1:30 a.m. where they arrived to find one person suffering a violent stab injury at that location.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital with serious injuries and trauma.
The stabbing is under investigation by the Elizabeth Police Department.
