Elizabeth Police officials are reporting non-fatal injuries for a male found stabbed in a section of the city this afternoon.
In a preliminary statement released by Elizabeth City Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, it happened around 3:16 p.m. near Third St and Broadway, where police learned of a person injured at that location.
According to Spokeswoman Martins, police arrived and found the victim stabbed in the buttock area and struck in the head with an object.
Spokeswoman Martins said the victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark as a precaution.
Police may have a possible suspect, but all parties are being uncooperative, Spokeswoman Martins said.
The situation remains under investigation at this time.
