Police in Elizabeth are investigating a shooting that reportedly sent one person to the hospital early Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Court and 3rd streets after gunfire rang out at approximately 3:30 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene found a male victim suffering a gunshot wound at that location. EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark suffering severe injuries according to reports.
Police are also attempting to determine if a male who entered Trinitas Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the neck is connected to the Court Street shooting.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening and the victim was uncooperative according to reports.
The investigation into both incidents remain active, ongoing and handled by the Elizabeth Police Department.
