Police in Elizabeth are looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a person at a location in the city on Sunday night.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. after gunfire rang out near 433 Catherine Street.
Officers rushed to the scene and found the victim suffering a bullet wound in his back at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark with Elizabeth Police escorting the EMS unit to the medical center.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
