Several police units from Elizabeth assisted in quelling an altercation that erupted inside a movie theater at the Jersey Gardens Mall last night (Friday).
Movie theater security contacted police when an argument broke out inside the crowded theater at around 9:30 p.m.
According to witnesses inside the theater, someone in the crowd began to throw popcorn in the direction of a couple who were watching the movie when the male asked the alleged suspects "if they wanted to engage in a physical altercation".
Police arrived and escorted everyone from the theater witnesses said.
There were no injuries or arrests reported.
