Police in Linden are looking for a suspect wanted for a violent stabbing in a section of the city this afternoon.
Police said at approximately 2:15 p.m., Linden Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Wood Avenue on reports of a fight.
According to police, suspect suspects fled the scene before Police arrival, but the victim, identified as a19-year-old man from Elizabeth, was stabbed multiple times during the incident.
Police say the victim was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life. threatening injuries. Moments later,
Linden Police said officers located the suspect’s vehicle, a black 2011 Lincoln MKS, and attempted to stop the car, but the driver refused to comply and a vehcile pursuit was initiated.
The chase entered neighboring Roselle. The the vehicle stopped suddenly on the 100 block of East 10th Street and the officer’s efforts to catch the suspects were unsuccessful at that time.
An extensive search of the area was conducted, and three juvenile suspects were taken into custody; a 16-year-old boy from Elizabeth and two 16-year-old boys from Roselle.
Police later learned that the vehicle was reported stolen from Beechwood.
