An Elizabeth man is facing charges after he tried to steal two televisions from the Walmart Tuesday morning, police said.
Police responded to the Linden Plaza Walmart Tuesday at approximately 11:12 a.m. for a report of a man attempting to walk out the store with two unpaid televisions.
Loss Prevention personnel told officers that a man, later identified as Brady J. Davion, 59, of Elizabeth, placed a 42” television in a shopping cart and concealed a second television - a 19” - under his jacket while attempting to walk out the store with the unpaid merchandise. However, Davion was stopped before he left the store.
Davion was placed under arrest and booked at police headquarters where officers also discovered a contempt warrant for him in Rahway.
He was transported to the county jail in lieu of $1,500 bail with a court date set for February 19th.
The two televisions are valued at $336.00.
