Elizabeth Man Gets 5 Years for Human Trafficking

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces that the Honorable James M. DeMarzo, J.S.C. sentenced Wendy Archelus, a 22-year-old male of Elizabeth to 5 years in State Prison in connection with human trafficking charges.

On July 28, 2014, defendant pled guilty to second degree human trafficking.

The defendant was initially charged as part of the Innocence Lost Initiative out of Parsippany, which was intended to locate and recover underage prostitutes.  

Defendant provided services for a 17-year-old female prostitute, specifically by providing her with transportation.

Judge DeMarzo’s sentence includes a period of 3 years of parole ineligibility.  

The defendant was also subject to a $15,000 mandatory fine.
