Elizabeth Man Found with Suspected Vehicle Burglary Proceeds in Roselle Park

An 18-year-old Elizabeth man found in possession of proceeds from a vehicle that was burglarized was arrested over the weekend in Roselle Park.

Police responded to the area of Markthaler Place and Charlotte Terrace (near the Elizabeth / Union border) at approximately 3:12 a.m. for a report of two suspicious males running from a vehicle after the car alarm went off.

After a brief foot pursuit, the suspects were apprehended but only one was charged.

Devin Nunez, of Elizabeth, was found in possession of numerous items that may be proceeds of vehicle burglaries.

The items include: older model cellular telephones; an ipod; several phone chargers; headphones; over $10.00 in quarters; several unlabeled keys; brand name sunglasses, a broken gold necklace and a BMX style bicycle.

Nunez was charged with obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest.

As of this date, we do not have anyone reporting any car thefts.
