A robbery witness assisted police in capturing an Elizabeth man over the weekend.
Officers responded to the area of W. Clay Avenue and W. Grant Avenue Friday at approximately 1:04 p.m., after receiving a call - made by a witness - stating a male who was walking in the area was being physically assaulted by another male as he forcibly removed his wallet.
Once on scene Ptl. Richard Gaylord separated the two individuals involved and arrested the actor, later identified as Jahlil Y. Zamora,30, of Elizabeth.
He was later charged with (2nd degree) robbery and (3rd degree) theft.
Zamora was ultimately lodged into the Union County Jail with no bail awaiting his first appearance.
The 39-year-old male victim was treated on the scene and his wallet was also recovered, according to police.
