Officials announced the arrest of an Elizabeth man who is accused of attacking a relative with a baseball bat in Newark.
According to police, on March 11 Lorenzo Piar, 30, of Elizabeth, reportedly exited a Honda Odyssey on North 6th Street and pointed a handgun at a 35-year-old man before a fight ensued. Piar and one of the accomplices attacked the man with a baseball bat.
Piar was identified as one of the suspects and was arrested Tuesday without incident. He was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

There were no additional details released on the two accomplices wanted in the assault.
