Police in Elizabeth are looking into a shooting that injured a male in Elizabeth on Tuesday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 628 Marshall Street around 11 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where doctors treated non-life-threatening injuries.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
