Police officials in Elizabeth are investigating several gas station robberies that occurred in the city during the week including one that happened Saturday evening.
In the latest incident, police say two male suspects arrived at the Shell gas station located at 574 Newark Avenue just before 10:25 p.m. and announced a robbery.
The suspects took an undetermined amount of cash from employees before speeding from the scene on Newark Avenue.
Police believe the suspects are responsible for a string of other gas station robberies that occurred in Essex and Union counties in the last three days.
