Fire officials in Elizabeth are investigating a suspicious fire that ignited part of a house early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. at 530 Vine Street.
Firefighters responded quickly to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames, which were confined to the side of the home.
Upon further inspection, authorities suspected that the blaze may have been caused by a Molotov cocktail thrown at the residence before the perpetrator fled the scene.
The fire did not cause extensive damage to the property, and no injuries were reported.
Officials are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
