Police closed Cherry Street to traffic following a crash that left a vehicle flipped onto its side this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 2:51 p.m., emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Cherry Street for a report of an accident.
Upon arrival, crews found a white SUV on its side with an occupant that needed to be extricated.
The occupant was removed from the vehicle and transported to Trinitas Hospital suffering non-fatal injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
UPDATE 5:37: According to police, the driver of the vehicle passed out behind wheel as he was going over the Cherry Street bridge. A witness claims the driver swerved to the right, went airborne and landed upside down. The driver was extricated and transported to area hospital with minor injuries. No charges have been filed, according to police.
