The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Accident Investigations Unit will handle the investigation into a pedestrian strike that killed a man in Elmwood Park on Thursday evening.
According to preliminary reports from Elmwood Park Police, the victim was crossing River Drive near Route 46 just before 6:30 p.m. when a Sedan struck him at that location.
Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene officials dead.
Elmwood Park Police taped off the area as the medical examiner arrived to remove the unidentified victim's body from he roadway.
The incident is the third fatal pedestrian strike in Bergen County in 24-hours according to officials.
