An Atlantic County Grand Jury returned an indictment against an Egg Harbor Township man on multiple drug charges including possession of approximately three kilograms of heroin and also maintaining and operating a drug production facility, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
The Grand Jury on January 24th returned an eight count indictment against Ismael Martinez, 33, of Egg Harbor Township, for the possession of CDS with the intent to distribute and the maintenance and operation of a CDS facility located at Clayton Mill Apartments in Absecon.
Authorities indicted Martinez on the following charges:
* Count 1 – Possession of Heroin 3rd Degree
* Count 2 – Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute First Degree
* Count 3 – Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute in a School Zone 3rd Degree
* Count 4 – Possession of Cocaine 3rd Degree
* Count 5 – Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute Second Degree
* Count 6 – Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute in a School Zone 3rd Degree
* Count 7 – Maintaining/ Operation of a CDS (Heroin) production facility First Degree
* Count 8 – Maintaining/ Operation of a CDS (Cocaine) production facility First Degree
Members of the Absecon Police Department, with the assistance of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office on October 27, 2017, searched 403 Clayton Way, located in Absecon. Police said pursuant to that search, the following items were seized:
* Heroin of approximately 3 kilograms
* Cocaine in an amount exceeding ½ of an ounce
* Various cutting agents used in the manufacture of CDS
* Weighing scales
* Rubber bands
* Thousands of wax paper folds used to package CDS
* Heat sealable bags
* Blenders
* Measuring cups
* Sifters
* Stamp pads
* Gloves
* Masks;
* And various other drug paraphernalia used during the manufacture of CDS.
This was the result of an Absecon Police Department investigation, with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Guns Gangs and Narcotics Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department.
These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt.
