Edison Man Among Two Arrested in Connection to New Brunswick Shooting

Police arrested two men in connection with Sunday shooting that injured two people in New Brunswick.

Police responded to a Class Place home Sunday afternoon after two individuals, Anthony Brown, 22, of New Brunswick, and a 17-year-old juvenile, were shot. 

Brown suffered gunshot wounds to his hand and buttocks and the unidentified 17-year-old was shot in the chest. Both were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

Christopher Smith, 24, of Franklin Township was arrested yesterday around 4 p.m. outside of his home.

Tywaan Bailey, 23, of Edison, was arrested around 6 p.m. at his home.

According to detectives, a search of the vehicles and residences uncovered a significant amount of drugs, including heroin, prescription pills, and PCP, and a handgun.

Smith and Bailey were charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Bailey was also charged with possession of controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
