Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Damien A. Imbriano, 22, of East Rutherford, on charges of debauching the morals of a minor, providing obscene material to a minor, theft by extortion, and obstruction.
According to Prosecutor Musella, on Wednesday, July 13, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Imbriano during an Internet child endangerment and extortion investigation.
The investigation revealed that Imbriano used the Internet to engage in conduct that would debauch the morals of a minor, sent obscene material to a minor and engaged in extortion by threatening to share sexually explicit photos of juvenile victims if additional photos were not received.
In addition, Imbriano obstructed the investigation by deleting photos of a nude 14-year-old female victim from his mobile device after being contacted by law enforcement.
As a result of the investigation, Imbriano was arrested on Wednesday, July 13, in Paramus, and charged with theft by extortion, debauching the morals of a minor, providing obscene material to a minor and obstruction.
According to Prosecutor Musella, Imbriano was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
This investigation, led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit, is ongoing.
