Orange Police are investigating a pedestrian hit and run incident that left an East Orange woman suffering serious injuries on Sunday night.
According to preliminary reports, several witnesses dialed 911 when they observed a car strike a woman in the vicinity of Main and Park streets at approximately 9 p.m.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the 33-year-old woman in the crosswalk suffering non-life threatening injuries after a car struck her near the intersection then drove away from the scene according to witnesses.
The unidentified woman was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment and is expected to be ok according to reports.
Police were able to get a license plate number for the vehicle and are in the process of contacting the owner of the car, but there are no official reports of arrests at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
