Police in East Orange are investigating a shooting that left one person injured on a busy stretch of Central Avenue Thursday night.
According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched around 9:05 p.m. to the area of 394 Central Avenue following reports of gunfire.
When units arrived, they located an unidentified individual suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
As of press time, authorities have not released details about the individual’s identity or condition.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been announced. Police have launched an active and ongoing investigation into the incident.
