East Brunswick Teen Sentenced for Multiple Acts of Delinquency

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey announced that a 17-year-old East Brunswick male was sentenced to serve 3 ½ years in the New Jersey Training School for Boys known as Jamesburg.

 

Superior Court Judge Marcia Silva sentenced the 17-year-old, on January 18, 2019 to serve 3 ½ years at the Jamesburg facility.

 

The sentence was imposed in accordance with a plea agreement reached with Middlesex County First Assistant Prosecutor Christopher L. C. Kuberiet. The 17-year old was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent when he pleaded guilty on December 3, 2018, to two counts of first-degree armed robbery, conspiracy to commit theft, third degree armed riot, third degree criminal mischief, and fourth degree contempt.

In addition, prior to sentencing, he also pleaded guilty to third degree credit card theft.

 

Officials say he was initially arrested on a juvenile complaint on June 28, 2016, and subsequently was charged with multiple crimes occurring between March 23, 2016 through November 27, 2018 in the Township of East Brunswick.

 

The juvenile was arrested and charged following investigations by Officers of the East Brunswick Police Department, and Detectives Nicole Spezio and Tammy Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Juvenile Unit.
