Hudson County authorities are investigating a shooting that hospitalized one person in Jersey City overnight.
Police were called to the vicinity of 33 Dales Avenue after they received reports of shots fired at around 2 a.m. according to preliminary reports.
Units arriving at the scene found evidence that a shooting occurred but no victims were found after officers canvassed the scene.
Just before 2:30 a.m., Jersey City Police were notified by hospital officials at Jersey City Medical Center that a gunshot victim arrived at the emergency room according to reports.
Police investigating back at the crime scene found shell casings and other evidence during their search.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
