This morning, Mercer County authorities launched an investigation into a shooting incident.
The situation came to light around 3:40 a.m. when police stopped a car near the intersection of Parkway Avenue and Stratford Avenue in Ewing.
During the stop, officers discovered the driver had been shot in the leg.
The victim was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, they are expected to survive the injury. However, the circumstances and motive behind the shooting remain unclear.
Authorities are currently piecing together the events that led to this violent occurrence.
