There is an active search for a suspect who fired a weapon that injured a male victim in Elizabeth Friday.
According to police, the early morning shooting happened in the vicinity of 143 Inslee Place around 2:35 a.m.
Police say the gunman approached the victim then fired on him before running from the scene.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark, suffering a bullet wound in his leg and listed in serious but stable condition, according to police.
The Elizabeth Police Department is handling the investigation into the shooting.
No arrests reported.
