Police in Newark responded to reports of a shots fired incident near the border of the Central and West Wards early Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near 491 South 11th Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered evidence of a shooting and promptly notified the Newark Shooting Response Team to assist in the investigation.
Despite their efforts, no victims were found at the location.
Authorities have launched an active investigation into the motive behind the shooting. Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the gunfire.
Police continue to urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
