Authorities are on the search for a suspect in the early morning robbery of a BP gas station in Newark's North Ward.
The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday at the station, located in the 60s block of Bloomfield Avenue.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect, who was armed with a weapon, demanded money from the gas station employees before fleeing the scene.
Newark's crime scene unit was on-site to assist with the investigation, gathering evidence in an effort to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
No physical injuries were reported during the robbery.
However, the suspect remains at large, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
