Fire officials in Irvington are investigating a fire that displaced two residents in the Township on Wednesday morning.
The fast-moving fire ignited inside an attic in the 80's block of Howard Street at approximately 4 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where they observed smoke coming from the upper level of a single family wood-framed house at that location.
Firefighters were able to knock the flames down then conduct a search of the home that came back negative for trapped or injured occupants.
Officials say the American Red Cross assisted less than a half dozen residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
