Early Morning Gunfire Erupts in Newark's South Ward

Newark Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in the South Ward early Monday morning.NinosGunfire erupted in the vicinity of 312 Van Vechten Street shortly before 12:55 a.m., prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.

Upon arrival, police units secured the area and found multiple shell casings scattered throughout the neighborhood.

Newark's Shooting Response Team was quickly on the scene to assist with the investigation.

Despite the early morning chaos, no victims have been reported as a result of the gunfire. After a thorough canvassing of the neighborhood, authorities confirmed no injuries.

The suspect involved in the shooting fled the scene and remains at large.

The investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for the suspect and determine the motive behind the shooting.

Newark Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in resolving this case.
